Abigail Matute, or Abby is the main character of the Pinoy Komiks strip Girly Tips - KomikSerye. Initially, Abby was supposed to be the personification of everything negative about Filipino millennials. However, Lucrecio Escariote decided to transform her into a goofy, yet smart young woman.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Abigail Karingal Matute was born on April 11, 1989 in Binan, Laguna. She is the middle-child among three children born to Carlos and Leticia Matute. The family lived a typical lower middle-class life in the rough area of Barangay San Antonio. Growing up under the circumstance didn't stop Abby from having lofty dreams. She wasn't the brightest in school, but she found ways get good grades.

She earned her Undergraduate Degree in Journalism at the University of Perpetual Help System. Her dream was to be a news reporter for one of the two major networks. Working as a production assistant in one of the top-rated news programs in the country, she believed she would make it in front of the camera one day. However, an encounter with her role-model newsreader in the studio left her badly scarred emotionally.
